Promote rights

The Commission promotes the rights of users of health, disability and aged care services. These rights are set out in documents such as the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights PDF (140.0 KB).

The Code of Health and Community Services Rights and Responsibilities PDF (57.5 KB) is central to our legislation. It sets out the rights and responsibilities of service users and service providers in health, disability and aged care services throughout the Territory. It obliges service users and service providers to take reasonable action in all circumstances to give effect to the Code, and is an important aspect considered when we are working with parties to resolve complaints.
