What we do

Engage with the community

It is important that people living in the Territory know who we are, what we do and how we go about our business of handling complaints. It is equally important that service users and their family, guardians or carers understand how to make a complaint and that service providers know how to handle a complaint.

We engage with the NT community by:

  • Preparing and distributing brochures and pamphlets about the Commission.
  • Preparing and distributing information about how to make a complaint and how to handle complaints.
  • Providing general information, complaints handling sessions and conducting workshops for community groups. These groups may include health and disability service providers, health and disability advocacy groups, mental health consumer organisations and other community groups.
  • Participating at various public events such as forums, information days, seminars and conferences.
